to wean or not to wean, that is the question...

Watikah hari ini adalah...

Aku tatau kenapa.  Aku masih sangat mengantuk.  I've been so dono where sampaikan aku tak teringat langsung kat the kids at home.  Ni sungguh ka the ripple effect sampai cengginik?  Is de terrible lah. 

I've settled some things.  All documents.  But truthfully right now, I know I only feel like curling up on my bed.  With the little kitten would be nice but her mouth OFF my chest - please.tolong.help.

Gosh.

Lately I've been feeling like, I don't know how long moooore I can be patient with breastfeeding ni...  Seriyes.  I am at the verge of...  At the point of thinking of weaning [NOOO....].  I go like, alamak kesian kat dia pulak bekos dengan Abang Long I went all the way bekos I could and Abang Ngah I had to wean at 1 1/2years sebab I was pregnant with little girl.

Ye lah.  Naik je keta, terus nak baring.  You pusing ke depan, dia pusing balik to nose dive.  Bapak dia marah pun dia buat dek beb.  Gua lagi la serabut.  Pegang budak kecik terpusing-pusing.  [Mak mana yang tak penah go through this sila angkat tangaaaaaan...]  Dengan Bapaknya kata, "No susu!"  Dengan dia buat akrobat.  Last-last?  Ye.  Betul.  Sombat je.

Aih.

I still have 5 months to go before she turns 2.  Oh.  Hari ni 14th ek?  Happy birthday Dik! 

But ho-hum.  Sabar je lah.  Ini anak.  Sayang anak.  Kasi dia kuat.  Kuat gentel pun...  Isk.  Sebenarnya aku tak sanggup!  Boleh tak soh je Bapaknya take over?  Haha.  Ye.  Tu maknanya makin cepat la wean namanya tu.  Dah lah sabjek ni dah diketengahkan beberapa kali sebelum ni. 

Sabar je la Mak aih...

a tip: carrying everything in one bag for baby in one go

Watikah hari ini adalah...

Sometimes I see people bringing a whole load of bags and baskets for their baby.  Yes.  For a little baby, they sure make A LOT of fuss.  But I carried only ONE backpack to go.  Don't believe me?  Well, this was what I had in my bag.

This was the bag I used quite thoroughly.

1 Packet of Wastepaper Basket Sized Garbage Bags
1 Wet Tissues (Big)
1 Baby Power (Small)
1 Baby Lotion (Small)
1 Baby Bath (Small)
1 Baby Shampoo (Small)
1 Comb (Small)
1 Towel (Thinnest and most ROLLable you can find)
3 Tops
2 Bottoms
1 Bib
1 Pair of Socks
1 Bottle Brush (The 2-in-1 with teat brush on one stick)
1 Drinking Bottle
1 Milk Bottle
1 Milk Container Bottle
1 Thermos
1 Pegion Baby Bottle/Teat Cleaning Liquid (Small)

All this in the list, was sufficient when I went town hopping with my little boy when he was small.  So I'm sure it would do the same for you.

breastfeeding reference links and books

Tadi aku berborak dengan seorang ibu ni.  Dia bersalin lagi setelah beberapa tahun.  Bercerita la pulak sampai part menyusu ni. 

Ye.  Diari hidup aku memang menyusu badan. 

Supply meets demand. 
Lagi kerap bagi susu, lagi kerap ada susu.  Kalau kurang bagi, susu akan jadi lagi sikit.  Tak perlu lama.  Benda ni boleh bertambah dan berkurang dalam masa 3 hari saja. 

Sedangkan lidah lagi tergigit, apa lagi kalau nak gigit susu mak saya.
Ye.  Nota.  Anda akan digigit.  Anak sayang Mak.  Dan anak akan gigit Mak.  Haha.

Lagi pun dia akan ada fasa nak tumbuh gigi, rengsa gusi gitu. 

Jadi... Ibu-ibu, Bapak-bapak... [Ceh.  Nadia.  Tulung jangan berkaraoke di sini.  Tengs.]  Bonda-bonda sekalian haruslah kuat semangat dan banyak bersabar. 

Tip-tip bernas:
Sila picit hidung anak anda bila dia mengigit supaya dia tidak dapat bernafas dan akan lepas serta merta.

Perkara yang perlu tau:
Tolong jangan menjerit bila dah kena gigit.  Nanti anak ingat kita main dengan dia.

Same concept dengan kalau kita lari dari hanjing.  Lagi kaw kaw kita lari, lagi di kejar, sebab dia ingat kita nak main dengan dia.

[Santa Clause: Tau tak molek nak bagi concept ni tapi aku tengah tak boleh nak pikir what to ganti.  Maap zahir batin.]

Kalau ada cracked/sore nipple:
From my experience, sore nipples are usually from the first baby latch.  Ni sebab masa time Cik Adik dulu, my body position tu tak betul dan tak boleh betul sebab aku kan kena modus operasi.  So bila dia suapkan baby my susu, mulut dia tak masuk dengan betul menyebabkan soreness for the next months.

If you do have cracked/sore nipple, tolong jangan letak minyak gamat.  Okay la.  All mothers should know this la kan about minyak gamat tu.  Gila ke?  Kan...  What you do is, you squeeze some of your susu out and layer it over the nipple AFTER the baby has done drinking.  Alternatively, ada products online that you can refer to.

As for books, I rasa the WHAT TO EXPECT series adalah sangat berguna because you can just refer your symptoms there first before you panic and start calling your mom, auntie, apatah lagi member sebelah cubicle ko tuuuu.... [moncong panjang tu...].

Ceh.  Ko pecaya tak sepanjangnya aku tatau diorang ada website??  Hmph.  Nemind la.  For your benefit...  WHAT TO EXPECT link. 

The books hari tu pun kata kedai buku I saw diorang dah tukar cover.  Dulu cover dia atas biru, bawah putih, tengah, mak ngandung buncit.  He he.  But whatever it is, you can get these of the rack at the local bookstore.  Tapi tolong jangan carik kat kedai mamak sebab diorang tak ada jual situ.  Tengs.
