the kabus is lagi best on the other side

When I was younger, whenever we go for holiday at Frasers ke, Genting ke, selalu je berangan how great it would be bangun je tidur, boleh terus ngadap kabus pagi every day.  Macam best.  Kena dok London le kunun...  Lagi best jejauh sikit.  Speaking London always.

But since tinggal on our own, I remember this every time we leave for work in the mornings.  Naik motor and go through that 3km stretch of morning mist.  Wonderful.  Kalau tak dapat rasa pun, dapat nampak the kabus.  Kitorang pun tinggal dekat ngan hutan.  And talking about hutan, macam-macam perkara hutan is there [what does your tell you??].  Tinggal dekat situ, so far alhamdulillah tak ada pernah nampak khinzir hutan atau menatang sebegitu kat situ.  Takat hanjing beratur tu biasa.  The hanjings sangat berkebolehan okay...  Diorang pandai sambut sahutan azan.  Yes.  Hanjing educated.  Just that the kemampuan dan tahap kelajuan hanjing tu masih belum lagi dikenalpasti so kiranya zon masih selamat la kat rumah tu.

Where we're staying ada petempatan Orang Asli.  This morning I saw a group of women and children bawak jaring ceduk tu nak pergi tangkap ikan kat tasik belakang tu with those rattan bags on their backs.  Wait.  Maybe the rattan bags tu in my imagination je kut?  Tu macam orang nak pi petik daun teh kat Cameron je??  Ha ha.  Uh.  Ha'ah eh...  Actually kan, I should do the same gi mancing kat tasik belakang tu je bila-bila tak sempat gi pasar beli ikan kan?  Ha ha.

Anyway, some of them opt to stay on their land instead of the houses built for them.  So they've got their huts and kebun kat tepi tu.  You can see one on the way out of our housing area.  I was quite surprised when one morning, I actually saw one family tunggu kat tepi jalan for the van to pick up their son pergi taska.  Astonished, surprised yang terharu.  I mean, they all pun to have that awareness betapa pentingnya pelajaran.  But to think again, sedangkan diorang pun tau learning is important ni kan pulak orang yang tak nak sambung belajar.

Funny ain't it?  In a way, kita selalu impikan apa yang kita tak boleh dapat dan bila benda tu depan mata, kita lupa betapa nak nya kita benda tu in the beginning.

I wanted to tinggal dekat rumah berdepan dengan playground.  Tapi tak train pun the children to play dekat situ.  I suppose decision tu is more for security reasons la.  I get to go through the mist each morning and be grateful by it, but never went into the forest park.  I wanted grass on my lawn and got more than I bargained for, but rarely sit out to appreciate it.  I got herb plants but rarely use them in my cooking because I forget about them and keep buying the leaves from the market.

Yes.  It is funny, I suppose.  And so much for my blog.  Kunun just to vent out in BM ler kata...

Thank you husband for reminding me to be true to myself.  Honest to what I write.  I am pretty much of a person who has to read instructions in English but can bantai cakap so very the Malaya.  :)

And Nadia falls back into her comfort zone.  She is truely Manglish at heart.
